Familiars Foster Network & Rescue is a completely foster-based 501(c)3 rescue specializing in the care of neonatal kittens and pregnant or nursing cats. We hope to relieve some of the pressure from high intake animal shelters in our area by providing placement for these sensitive populations that will not thrive in a typical shelter environment. We serve southern WI and northern IL.

Mission

Familiars Foster Network & Rescue (FFNR) strives to provide the best-possible environments for all animals in the organization’s care by establishing and nurturing a compassionate foster network, routinely evaluating volunteer morale, and adhering to the most up to date animal welfare best practices and care standards, so that our animals can thrive in their temporary homes and beyond.

Familiars Foster Network and Rescue was founded in 2023 by animal welfare advocates and best friends, Amy Warrichaiet and Hannah Hathaway. After identifying the need for a kitten and small animal specific rescue in the area, they put their brains together and Familiars was born. Both Amy and Hannah have almost 10 years experience in animal welfare. Amy specializes in neonatal kitten care and small animal care, such as rats, rabbits, and reptiles. Hannah specializes in mom/kitten cases as well as hissy/spitty kittens in need of socialization.
